Tsuru YOTSUKI
28 | FEMALE |
ELITE JONIN | KUMOGAKURE |
APPEARANCE
One trait that most people notice is that she's never seen wearing any shoes outside of her usual attire. Another thing that can be noticed is her eyebrows being red and stubby. She has two orange beads that occupy the middle of her two white highlights. Tsuru also has a lock of hair sticking up from the center of her head. She's lightweight, weighing somewhere around 59 kg (125 lbs). Tsuru also wears a large bow behind her head that has colors of black, white, and gold. Her outfit's color is mainly white with black, red, and gold accents. Tsuru's attire also has six "tails" with bells attached nearly to the ends, though they don't make any sounds. She has a fox tail that matches the style of her hair: black, but contains two white streaks.
PERSONALITY
Tsuru is a very collected woman. She's calm and loves to socialize with others. She's always the social type and has no problem making friends and acquaintances. As a Yotsuki, it's expected for her to act proper and elegant, but she's more than welcome to be informal to those that she views as close friends. She has youth to her asides from her age, which says otherwise. Tsuru is someone who is willing to help other people with personal problems, give advice, and lend a shoulder for someone to cry on. She has no regrets in doing so. After all, she is the head medic.
As the head medic, it is expected of her to keep her image as such; professional, intelligent, mindful, and the list goes on. Tsuru could only hope her subjects would live up to their fullest potential, just like she did. She cares deeply for not only her peers, but for every single soul in Kumogakure and allies alike. Her mother was the head medic until she announced she was retiring. Tsuru has looked up to her mother as a role model and would only hope that she could go in her mother's footsteps in becoming the next head medic. Now that she obtained such a position, she only wishes to do well like her mother.
As kind and laid back Tsuru is, she has a few tricks up her sleeves. She's a very secretive woman who often works in the shadows, but only let a few people of who she really trust. She likes to act difficult and often throw in quotes and ideologies to throw people off. Tsuru is both a liar and someone who's willing to be down to earth. Blackmail is also something she uses if she really wants to get answers out of someone with no regrets on deck. She may come from a family from elegance, but she knows when to play dirty.
Tsuru can be very strict when it comes to her job. Everyone is human, but she expects her peers and the likes to minimally screw up, especially from those that are medical-nin. She has great pride to being a medical-nin and she'll be damned if one person decides to mess things up while they hold such a position.

HISTORY
From what Tsuru has been told, a village like Kumogakure was built from the blood, sweat, and tears of the Yotsuki clan, who were the only founders and noble clan of Kumogakure. To summarize who they were, they originally built the village as a safe haven and soon build an army of their own to prove their value and power as a clan. While they kept such a motive, they've decided to open it to all around and not just restrict it to their own cult. Whenever Tsuru hears this tale as a young child, she couldn't help but think her clan would have that much value and impact to the village. She felt as if she would be at the top of her game.
And for the most part, Tsuru's instincts were right. As a Yotsuki, she was born into wealth and nobility due to just her last name. She was exploited into the world of privileged and being "informed" that the Yotsuki rules above all. It was a selfish and spoiled mentality brought up to her at a young age, but it wasn't entirely her fault for being convinced of such information along with sticking to that mentality. It was just how she was brought up by her parents as her parents knew what was best for her.
But Tsuru never grew up to be a spoiled child. She was the opposite. Now she knows her place in terms of being in the only noble clan, but that didn't mean she had every right to act nasty. Tsuru was a firm believer of karma which was why she would never try to cause harm to anyone. Even if she didn't believe in such a superstition, there would be no reason for her to harass anyone. It was a fact that she had nobility, but she had no plans of abusing her position. There wasn't a point to do so other than to look like a big bully, and Tsuru didn't want to be feared or even hated.
Both of her parents were shinobi, so it was expected of Tsuru to follow along and become a kunoichi herself. Her father was apart of a three-man genin team and her mother was a head medic. Both of her parents were well mannered, as expected. They both met when her mother went on a mission with her father and three-man genin squad twice before they've decided to get onto a personal level of their relationship. From acquaintance to a friend, to a friend to a close friend, and a close friend to a love interest. Although they did have clashing personalities with her father being strict and her mother being relaxed, they were still able to maintain a healthy relationship and eventually settle down together.
Tsuru had always admired her parents. Her parents were here ultimate models, but she looked up to her mother the most due to her profession. To become a head medic became a dream of Tsuru and to lead a group of medics and aid in battle sounded like a dream and an adventure for the young girl to take on. Turu would do whatever she could to become just like her mother.
But during her young years, she became something greater. Tsuru was randomly chosen to become the Jinchuriki of Matatabi when she was just about four years old. At four she didn't know much about tailed beasts nor knew what it was like. She was chosen because all power went to Yotsuki, so the clan wanted to make sure such tailed beasts would be limited to the clan. While it won't be exactly a success for someone to give up someone they love or even themselves to become a Jinchuriki. The concept wasn't clear to Tsuru nor was the process, but she later understood as she grew older.
Tsuru's life in the academy wasn't near difficult. Being a proficient student, but not the perfection she wanted, she was able to mostly perfect her studies. She managed to befriend a couple of students and maintain a balanced relationship between her and the others. Others did give her odd looks from her surname. Tsuru was sure to not let any negativity get in her way of graduating the academy, even if she has to endure nasty and hateful comments.
She graduated at the age of ten and was put into a three-man genin squad with a jonin. Both teammates were girls while the jonin was a man. Their names were Aiko, Honoka, and Atsumori respectively. The first encounter was slightly awkward when they've tried to introduce themselves. The team, minus the jonin, felt uncomfortable or at least the frequent silence felt deadly. The only thing they've managed to learn about each other were their names. As much as even Tsuru herself felt like she wanted to crawl in a hole, Tsuru only hopes for the best for her team.
Her team got off on a rocky start. Aiko and Honoka would often bicker at each other about their ideas and tactics whereas Astumori and Tsuru were essentially peacemakers. Out of the two, Aiko seemed like she was more rebellious. Honoka was someone who was respectful but held her ground. Tsuru was the first half of the brain of the group whereas Atsumori was the second and ultimately the leader. Truthfully, their feud would go on for a while to the point where fists would be flying and a fight would break out. Luckily, that has yet to happen.
Tsuru got along with Honoka the most, although her grounds with Aiko were neutral, if not leaning towards negative. Tsuru would often try to communicate and befriend her stubborn teammate, but she would be frequently pushed away or ignored. Even Atsumori would try to consult with Aiko but no luck was made. Tsuru did wonder about Aiko's background and what caused her to be what she was. However, Tsuru knew that she had no business trying to dig into Aiko's past as curious as she was.
During her genin years she managed to click with Matatabi for the first time. Like Tsuru, Matatabi was respectful and formal. She managed to befriend the tailed beast with formality and respect of her own. This didn't result to her having any access or control over Matatabi, but Tsuru did gain some trust from the beast.
Tsuru and her team went on a C-Rank mission that involved escorting a shinobi to their home village. During the process, they were ambushed by a group of rogue shinobi who had a bone to picked with the shinobi trying to return to their home village. Typical. Thankfully enough, they weren't as skilled as the group feared but they were still competent of pulling off some kills if Tsuru's group started to wear off some energy. The group stuck together to fight off the rogues, however Aiko decided to fight for herself to prove her worth.
A great mistake. Aiko was ganged up by two rogues who managed to put her on the verge of dying and right in front of Tsuru to top it all off. Tsuru didn't want Aiko to die, no matter how stubborn and aggressive she was. And that was the first time Tsuru ticked into her first version transformation. Red, bubbly cloak of chakra swarmed around her along with extensive canine fangs and her eyes faintly transforming into Matabi's own. In her transformation she didn't defeated the rogues on her own, but they eventually retreated. Ever since this incident, Aiko has grown closer to Tsuru out of gratitude, however her attitude for Honoka remained the same.
As they became chunin, Tsuru and her group remained in contact as Tsuru wanted to work with her mother. All except for Aiko. They've gotten their promotions in a time where there was war among the social classes and a time where crime rate became slightly higher than average. Aiko had taken the opportunity to flee from the village. No one knew why, but Aiko always had a loner vibe to her, so it was safe to assume that she wanted to live by her own rules and only see herself as a leader. At least, that's what Tsuru assumed. Tsuru also took it as a time to get into medical-ninjutsu.
Tsuru, Honoka and another chuunin worked under Tsuru's mother, who was the head medic. They had a dream of becoming one of the village's top medical-nin, and there was no other person to teach it better than her mother. It felt like an honor to work with her own mother, who essentially held all the knowledge to medical ninjutsu and other variables such as poison. Well, that's how Tsuru saw it. She held her mother to such a high standard and saw her as someone who knew it all.
Tsuru went on various missions with other shinobi to learn the tactics of being a medical-nin. They must learn to avoid getting injured, otherwise they wouldn't be able to heal others who might be in worsened conditions. To have that much responsibility on Tsuru felt pressuring. She had to make sure not only herself is okay, but also that the shinobi she was on a mission with were also in decent conditions. It wasn't exactly an easy process of trying to keep track of what she's doing along with her other fellow shinobi. This did take a few years to get used to such requirements and was no easy task to perform, but Tsuru managed to keep up competently. As her time as a chunin, she continued to connect with Matatabi.
Becoming a special jonin was the time where Tsuru began to connect with her biju. There were plenty of moments where she transformed in her first version forms as her time starting out as a chunin to her promotion of becoming a special jonin. It was at that moment that she managed to manifest some of the beast's powers: Matatabi's notable trait, blue fire. It was hotter and far more fatal than regular fire, which meant that Tsuru needed to learn how to control this type of fire to the best of her abilities. This was also the time where she began to further utilize Matatabi's abilities into medical-ninjutsu and study poison along with the human body; she wanted to know how it worked in a more specified and detailed manner, what ingredients and substances it could and couldn't withstand, and so on. Tsuru wanted to do whatever she could to become just like her mother.
Both Tsuru and Honoka have also spent time together in regards to their studies as they've gotten their promotions as jonin from their exams. Honoka was greatly interested in what it was like being a jinchuriki for so long. Tsuru was more than happy to explain her journey to her lifelong friend. They both had interest in obtaining high positions as medical-nin. Honoka was more than willing to help Tsuru reach to her dream as becoming the head medic of Kumogakure. As much as Honoka wanted the position herself, she knew Tsuru would be more likely to get it only because she was the daughter of the head medic. It couldn't be helped any other way.
And so Tsuru gained it.
At twenty-five, Tsuru and Honoka were promoted to elite jonin picked by the Raikage. Tsuru's mother declared that she was going to retire and pass her position down to none other than her only child, Tsuru. Tsuru sworn to live up to the Yotsuki name and carry on her mother's legacy of being a head medic. Honoka was one of Tsuru's personal assistance since Tsuru wanted her friend to hold importance in her position and to make sure she was respected as such.
Tsuru still studies to this day about medical-ninjutsu and continues to connect with Matatabi, but for now Tsuru feels as if she's at the top of her game.
RP SAMPLE
throat as her two tails swayed about. The red chakra that coated around the woman began to change into a dark blue color. She was on all fours as if she were an actual cat while staring at the rogue shinobi just a few meters away before her. Her fingernails extended five more centimeters as she took a few more steps closer while keeping a distance from said shinobi. Adrenaline surged through Tsuru's veins as she was entering into her two-tails form, prepared to lunge at the rogue.
The rogue gripped the hilt of his katana as he witnessed Tsuru's transformation. He could already feel some sweat droplets rolling down the side of his head, but his head was still in the game. He clenched his teeth as he tried to regain some confidence in himself. "Well, that's one more transformation to go under." The rogue mumbled under his breath. That didn't stop him from continuing the show, even if it may end in losing his life.
He clicked his tongue as the grip on the hilt became tighter. He was ready. It was now or never. As he spared a few more seconds worth of a stare down for the transformed jinchuriki, the rogue charged at Tsuru with his blade risen about his head, prepared to land a slash right on the jinchuriki.
Tsuru rose her lengthened fingernails in front of her in an X formation, blocking the sword from landing on her. Another hiss escaped her throat as she shoved her nails forward which caused the rogue stumble back and lose some of his balance. While the rogue made himself an open target, Tsuru took the opportunity to land a hit. Raising one of her hands, Tsuru threw a slash with her long fingernails at the rogue's chest.
The rogue grunted in pain as he felt the nails claw through fabric and onto his skin with blood immediately beginning to leak from the marks. The rogue then yelled in pain as he felt the burning sensation rising from the marks. Hused his free hand to try and clench onto the marks as an extreme burning sensation spread all over his chest.
While the rogue was distracted, Tsuru went in for the kill. She drew back both of her nails and thrust them forward at the same location she clawed. The rogue would lean forward as he was stabbed, some blood beginning to leak from his mouth. He dropped his katana as his body began to become lifeless. Tsuru would then yank her nails, which were now covered in the rogue's blood, as the rogue himself would then drop to the ground.
Tsuru took a few steps back as she stared at the corpse, releasing a roar before she'd flee the scene.
