The bar. It was her second home, next to her actual one. It's the place where she could forget all about her worries and stress with a single shot. Of course she had the choice to travel to her father's diner to get a drink, however he had one rule which made Kaede prefer the alternate of drinking there: smoking.
Her father was very strict when it came to smoking in his diner, especially when it's from his only daughter. Kaede doesn't necessarily have a problem with the rule, but it felt oppressing. While some would go through their way to break such a rule, her father wouldn't even think about Kaede trying to break it, even though the scenario would be realistic.
Kaede entered into the bar with a cigarette was already locked in between the center her lips. As she huffed, she made a small opening in the left corner of her mouth to puff out smoke. With dark blue eyes examining the area, she could say the bar was lively. People were boasting away with random jingles and songs, laughing about with heartiness and drinking to their heart's content.
Kaede walked over to the counter where the bartender was. As soon as she took her seat, Kaede pulled the cigarette from her mouth as she released another puff. Noticing the woman's arrival, the bartender moved over to Kaede. "The usual." She said in a soft tone as she placed the cigarette back in between her lips. "The usual" was nothing more than Shochu, a strong alcoholic drink in which the woman enjoys. She was a regular in this bar. After all, Kaede considered it as her second home.
Nodding as his response, the bartender turned around to grab Kaede's drink which was already prepared. Placing the glass in front of her, Kaede placed the money onto the bartender for him to take. Nodding her head as a form of gratitude, the bartender returned the nod then went off to serve other customers. Taking out the cigarette again, Kaede took a sip of her drink before releasing a heavy sigh of relief.
Just what I needed.

It seemed like a great idea at the time. No work tomorrow, nor any familial duties. She surely could be permitted to go to the bar nearby and have a drink. Or so she thought. Everything worked and planned out she went to the nearby bar, only to figure it was closed today for renovations. Lights out, door locked and not a noise was to be heard behind said closed door. Just her luck again of course. However the young ninja refused to see her carefully thought plan fall apart that easily. There must be another bar that was open somewhere in town. Determined Kasumi left her neighborhood and went to look around in the other parts of town.
After an hour or so of walking or so she finally managed to find a bar in another part of town. And as luck had it, another beautiful girl entered the establishment just as she arrived. As she neared she could hear a lot of noise coming from inside, mostly songs and laughter. Good, she liked the place already. The thought of moving her on a regular basis didn't come to mind, yet. Let's just hope that this place was as good on the inside like it looked like on the outside.
She opened the door and looked around after stepping inside, closing the door behind her again. Greeted by young men and women of different ages, all singing, talking, drinking and laughing. After a quick scan throughout the bar she noticed the young woman who just entered before her sitting at the bar, alone. Two girls alone in a bar? That travesty couldn't stand, and Kasumi felt a need to remedy that. As such she went to the stool aside the other girl she took her own order.
"What she ordered!" Kasumi said full of enthusiasm, while nodding. If it wasn't for the noise inside the bar the entire building could probably have heard it. Now it was only those nearby or those having some kind of enchanted perception, for whatever reason. Not that she cared if anyone was eavesdropping on her, at least at the moment. She noticed the other girl smoking. Not that Kasumi had a problem with that, but it did ruin her beauty just a bit. After a short while the bartender gave her the same drink and after a short exchange to figure out the price she payed the bartender.
"So enjoying yourself?" Kasumi asked before taking a heavy gulp from the drink before bursting into a short, but loud coughing fit. It was a little stronger than she had thought, but she had drank similar drinks before.
"Pardon, good stuff!" She said after she was done. Apparently she underestimated both the girl and the drink, even if that wasn't her intention.

Kaede slid her eyes to the other woman who just sat next to her and ordered Kaede's drink, scanning her from head to toe. Her eyes would stay on the woman for a few seconds before they went back to her drink. It hasn't been a minute and Kaede already felt annoyed. Though, she's been through worse so this was nothing, giving no offense to the other woman. Kaede would pick up her drink to take another sip before settling it back down, releasing a less exaggerated sigh as she did before.
When Kaede was asked whether she was enjoying herself, the woman went into a coughing fit right after she took a large chug of the Shochu. Kaede would smirk in amusement as she took another huff and puff while slightly shaking her head. Poor girl, Kaede would think.
Kaede would grab an ashtray that was just a few inches away for the woman to reach and pull, putting out her cigarette after taking her last huff and puff. Her cigarette was almost finished anyway. She'd then turn her attention back to the other woman with her amused smirk still sitting on her lips.
"You know, sweetheart," Kaede said as she tilted her head in amusement. "Kids like you should be more careful with adult drinks like Shochu. Especially if you didn't know what the said-adult ordered." She teased. Kaede was a heavy drinker hence her kid comment, having no knowledge or acknowledgment of the other woman's alcohol tolerance. Of course Kaede meant no harm. After all, this was a bar. However, it looked like the woman was able to hold her ground.
...Probably not as much as Kaede, anyway.

"Yes dear?" Kasumi said playfully. If anything, Kasumi already liked the tone the other woman was talking. What she was saying was another story. But at the least she probably was just messing around. Which of course was right up Kasumi's alley. Still that didn't mean she should just shut up and take it. Oh no. She will have her revenge for those fighting words! She completely forgot the fact that the entire situation was as it was because she underestimated the drink.
"Oh ho! Is that a challenge, girly?" Kasumi said while return a smirk on her face and stroking her hair. She just got caught off guard because she didn't think a beautiful lady would order such a drink, normally she'd easily take this one in a single gulp. Or so she thought, it's not like she actually ever drank this one before, but surely it couldn't be that much worse than what she usually drank in liters. Worse come to happen, Kasumi couldn't remember the last time she was steaming drunk so that would be a good experience as well. Either way was something Kasumi could look forward too. Bonus point if the other girl also got as tipsy as Kasumi herself wanted to be.

Honestly, Kaede found it cute. "Perhaps, if you're brave enough." She mused as she took another sip of her drink. Kaede considered herself to be a hardcore alcoholic, but she's smart enough to give her kidneys a break. She does, however, enjoy drinking strong alcohol so that in some way does give her an advantage of some sort. Shochu was one of her favorite drinks. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean Kaede is immune to alcohol. She could only dream.

"Of course, every challenge has a winner and loser." Kaede said. She loved taking challenges, especially winning the ones she's good at, and drinking was one of her strong suits. Still not being immune to getting drunk, but she's gotten used to adjusting herself to such a taste. When it comes to challenges and games, there will always be a loser and a winner. Losing was something that Kaede despised, especially when she loses to egotistical assholes like, well, herself.

Kaede took another scan of the woman from head to toe, only trying to figure out while how strong of a drinker she is. While Kaede was free to underestimate her, but she wasn't about to go down that route just yet. "Tell you what, how about we make a bet to make things interesting?" She offered. Kaede didn't really have anything to bet on yet if she were to win, but the idea of a bet could make things a little interesting.
