[nospaces] [googlefont=Karla] [googlefont=Inconsolata] [attr="class","surffcursor"] [attr="class","surffheader"]subject: identified crisis [attr="class","surfftxt"] Not too long ago was Masu notified that the Raikage wanted to summon the white haired woman into her office. She was on her break, but she didn't really mind attending to her boss's needs. It's not as if she had a choice to do so, anyway. On the outside, the Raikage seemed peaceful, lukewarm, and nurturing. The outside counts, but it's what's on the inside that really mattered. Don't get Masu wrong, she respected Mayu as a Raikage, and of course, a kunoichi. But there was something about her that made Masu... question the woman a little bit. Not necessarily rubbing it off the wrong way, but it was more than just out of curiosity and fulfilling it. [break][break] Two years. [break][break] It's been two years since Masu has became the Raikage's advisor and she can admit the atmosphere between the two is, while professional, felt like a dark twist to it, as if Masu were suffocating. There was just something about that woman that rose suspicions to the flower eyed girl. It wasn't just her beauty nor her unnatural white skin that had Masu working around the clock in her brain, either. Mayu's professionalism wasn't entirely the case, but Masu just couldn't put her finger on it. [break][break] Masu was already in the building and traveling to the Raikage's office. When she arrived at the door, Masu gently placed her hand on the doorknob and slowly gave it a turn before she slowly pushed it, entering through the space she made to slip herself into the office. Closing the door behind her, Masu then faced the desk of the Raikage, taking a few steps forward with a reasonable distance between her and the desk. [break][break] "You wanted to see me, ma'am?" Masu asked in a clear tone. [nospaces][googlefont=Roboto:300,400] [attr="class","jarbbgun"] [attr="class","jarbbgunt"] [attr="class","jarbbgunicon"] [attr="class","jarbbguntext"]Mayu patiently stared at the door as she awaited for her advisor to walk in, sitting behind her desk as she waited. The woman needed to inform Mayu on what's been going on these past few days since it remained a secret between both the Raikage and Tsuchikage. Not too long ago did Mayu travel to Iwagakure meet with the Nidaime Tsuchikage, Naoko Ebisawa, about an alliance as an invite from the Tsuchikage. It wasn't exactly what the results turned out to be that started the conversation, but rather asking advice of whether or not she should go to war. [break][break] If she were to do so, then she would need an ally, much of which Mayu understood. To sum it all up, she managed to convince the woman to prepare herself for war with Kumo as an ally, aliongside with Suna as Kumo's own for the most part. It's information like this that Masu needed to know. It wasn't that she didn't exactly trust her advisor, but some things are meant to be kept as a secret before she can talk about it with the people she trust... or at least have most of her trust in. Masu was one of those people she had most of her trust in. [break][break] As the door opened, the advisor slid through the crack she made and closed it while taking a few steps forward. Mayu flashed a friendly grin on her face as she watched Masu step closer. "Why yes I did, Ms. Kasai. I apologize if I've interrupted with your usual activities during your break. I figured that since it's been so long I've kept this information to myself, I thought now would be a good time to tell you than when the time actually comes." She explained. [break][break] "I wanted to inform you something with regards to Iwagakure. As I've already told you, the Tsuchikage had invited me to her office for a meeting. It was about battle plans basically and... essentially preparing herself in hopes of having an ally to back her up in case her original plan of peace and backing away from the feud crumbles." Mayu paused to let the advisor absorb the gist of her meeting with Naoko. "Of course being the 'generous' and 'understanding' woman I am, I've offered her to align with Kumogakure; to aid her in battle in case things go wrong." Mayu continued. [break][break] Mayu crossed her arms along with her legs as she continued to stare at the other white haired woman. "Before I go on any further, I'd like to know what you think first."

[nospaces] [googlefont=Karla] [googlefont=Inconsolata] [attr="class","surffcursor"] [attr="class","surffheader"]subject: identified crisis [attr="class","surfftxt"] Masu couldn't help but silently sigh through her nose as she watched the Raikage give her the smile. There it was, that so called "friendly smile" that Mayu flashed at Masu. It was a smile that gave her mixed signals of whether or not it was a smile of trust or a smile of deviousness. Masu would doubt it was the latter. While the Raiakge apologized for suddenly summon the advisor in her office during the break, Masu would return the smile. "Not at all, Lady Hosazu." She said. [break][break] What the Raikage said next did pique some interest in Masu as the Raikage mentioned that she had important news to tell Masu, whatever it was. Mayu basically summarized what happened at the meeting in Iwagakure with the Tsuchikage, which did raise a tail for Masu. It was what was the end result of the meeting that made the woman a bit concerned and wary. Being allies with Iwagakure in a possibly upcoming war? That was far from being just understanding and generous without acknowledging her own village's current conditions. [break][break] "Of course... well, while I do usually support the plans you make, I don't think I'll be able to support this one." Masu admitted with a sigh of doubt. It was painful to say, more importantly she wanted to know how the woman will react. To Masu, being in war with a village that's already been heavily damaged wasn't worth going to war with in the first place. "With all due respect, my lady, you have to be considerate of the village's conditions first before worrying about the others." She added holding both hands behind her back. [break][break] "As your advisor, I hope you can take some considerations in my words. I know the the deal's been sealed, however it's not too late to turn back now. We'd be fighting a losing war."[newclass=.surfftxt]text-align:justify; font: 11px Inconsolata; color:#707070; line-height: 14px;padding:5px;background-color:#fcfcfc;margin-top:10px;[/newclass] [newclass=.surfftxt b]text-decoration: none; font: 11px Karla;font-weight: 700;color:#656565;[/newclass] [newclass=.surffheader]font: 12px Inconsolata;color: #707070;border-bottom: 0.5px #e0e0e0 solid;text-align:left;background-color:#fcfcfc;padding: 0px 5px 0px 5px; margin-bottom:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.surffheader u]text-decoration: none;font-weight:900;font: 18px Karla;color: #656565;[/newclass] [newclass=.surffheader a]text-decoration: none;font: 12px Inconsolata;text-transform:lowercase;[/newclass] [newclass=.surffcursor]cursor:url("http://i.imgur.com/gZJIyOu.png"), auto;[/newclass][/quote]

[nospaces][googlefont=Roboto:300,400] [attr="class","jarbbgun"] [attr="class","jarbbgunt"] [attr="class","jarbbgunicon"] [attr="class","jarbbguntext"]Mayu was expecting a response like that from her advisor. Frankly enough, Mayu would do the same if she were in Masu's position. Although she couldn't help but raise a brow at her advisor in regards to the village's conditions. Of course, she knew Masu was referring to the Yotsuki clan and manipulating the economy to give themselves an advantage in finances. It was a feat as being the only noble and founding clan of the village. They held all the power. However with Mayu as the Nidaime Raikage, full power is far from what the clan has. [break][break] "Kumo is fine just the way it is, Ms. Kasai. The Yotsuki may have damaged the economy as a way to benefit themselves and shower themselves with riches and power, but their leader and former Raikage is dead. Now while that doesn't necessarily mean they're still in charge in some way in terms of possible fundings, they don't have the power that had then." Mayu reassured the other woman as she switched legs to cross. She assumed with having a good relationship with their clan leader, her relationship with the clan is about the same. However with those rumors crawling around, she would think otherwise. [break][break] Mayu had some faith in her village in not battling a losing war. The only reason she had "some" faith was to be realistic in her case. She had reasons of allying with Iwagakure other than to just help aid in war, but those were surprises to be exposed later on. "Our current state isn't exactly what we expected it to be after I came into office, but it's a lot better than before." Mayu pointed off. There were tons of homeless citizens using the streets to call "home" when the previous Raikage was in charge. When Mayu came in, things were slightly better, but there was more to fix unfortunately. [break][break] "I'm very well aware of what is going on with our village and I'm very conscious about the current issues that roams about. However, that doesn't mean our problems should prevent ourselves from helping others, and in this case, Iwagakure."

[nospaces] [googlefont=Karla] [googlefont=Inconsolata] [attr="class","surffcursor"] [attr="class","surffheader"]subject: identified crisis [attr="class","surfftxt"] Masu tried her best to keep her expression neutral, though it couldn't be helped. Kumogakure was not fine, at least not in Masu's eyes. It was undergoing a crisis, even if no one else, not even the Raikage, could see it. An economic crisis. The damn Yotsuki used Kumogakure as nothing more than a casino to their liking; to make themselves richer and watch the poor crumble to their advantage. It was sickening. It reminded her of the time her parents being ill and Masu ending up stealing medication for her parents since she was unable to buy them due to being in poverty. But she musn't bring emotion into this. [break][break] "This is not about power, Lady Hosazu. It's about current status of our village. Our village has yet to fully recover. It doesn't matter if the former Raikage was murdered and it doesn't matter if they don't have the power they used to have. This is about being ready to be an any war whatsoever." Masu explained. "And I sincerely doubt that the Yotsuki would want to help fund for the war, at least not when that rumor is spreading around like a virus and the majority actually believing it's true." She continued. [break][break] Speaking about village conditions, Iwagakure was brought up. Masu couldn't help but slightly sneer in annoyance, though it was only intentional and wasn't completely aware of the facial expression she was making. "Lady Hosazu, we are really not in a position to be helping IWAGAKRUE. Their last Tsuchikage has plummet his own village to the ground and I can assume her daughter is trying to pull it out from the dead. We can't help a village that's already in near ruins." Masu pleaded. The first Tsuchikage was practically a tyrant to his people, to the point where people were brainwashed to believe he was a good leader despite his monstrous actions. While he did and most would celebrate, repairs were far from being done in Iwagakure's current condition. [break][break] "I know this comes off as insincere, and I do want to apologize for such, but we need to take care of our own problems before we help a village like Iwagakure."[newclass=.surfftxt]text-align:justify; font: 11px Inconsolata; color:#707070; line-height: 14px;padding:5px;background-color:#fcfcfc;margin-top:10px;[/newclass] [newclass=.surfftxt b]text-decoration: none; font: 11px Karla;font-weight: 700;color:#656565;[/newclass] [newclass=.surffheader]font: 12px Inconsolata;color: #707070;border-bottom: 0.5px #e0e0e0 solid;text-align:left;background-color:#fcfcfc;padding: 0px 5px 0px 5px; margin-bottom:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.surffheader u]text-decoration: none;font-weight:900;font: 18px Karla;color: #656565;[/newclass] [newclass=.surffheader a]text-decoration: none;font: 12px Inconsolata;text-transform:lowercase;[/newclass] [newclass=.surffcursor]cursor:url("http://i.imgur.com/gZJIyOu.png"), auto;[/newclass]

[nospaces][googlefont=Roboto:300,400] [attr="class","jarbbgun"] [attr="class","jarbbgunt"] [attr="class","jarbbgunicon"] [attr="class","jarbbguntext"]Masu continued to argue for the opposing side, though this was something Mayu still expected to witness. "Well, the Yotsuki wouldn't refuse to fund a village they've build, that I'm sure of." She said as she got up of her feet and moved to the side of the desk. "Even if they've hate my guts and wish I'd drop dead, they couldn't. They wouldn't. Not while Kumogakure is still breathing. It's a blessing and curse to be the only " Mayu pointed out. Even if they hated Mayu, they can't watch their village fall even if it's run by someone who killed their leader; although that secret is yet to be exposed to anyone. [break][break] "Oh, don't be so negative Ms. Kasai. The second Tsuchikage has a lot of determination to bring her village back from the dead." Mayu reassured. Things weren't looking good for the Nidaime Tsuchikage's village, however it was recovering only slowly. "Us? Well, we're not so good but we're in a far more better state than Iwagakure. That, you have to agree with. Just have some faith in them." She said. Of course while Kumogakure did have its own problems, it would still be able to help aid Iwagakure in some way. [break][break] "Speaking of which, I've traveled to Sunagakure and managed to make an alliance with them, so they're now with us. However, the Kazekage doesn't know that we're allied with Iwagakure. We're planning to go to Kirigakure to hopefully convince Kirigakure to side with us, then I can tell them about our initial alliance with Iwagakure. That way, it'll be four versus two." Mayu explained. To her, it was the perfect plan. Hopefully the other two kage will see how much Iwagakure needs their help alongside Kumogakure, so they'll be prepared for war at any time. It was the least Mayu could do after convincing the Tsuchikage to prepare to go to war. [break][break] "But! I think I can get a little bit in depth about our war plans another time." Mayu said as she motioned herself over to the center of the office where there's two couches opposite of each other. Sitting on one of them, she patted the empty cushion next to her. "Why don't we sit here and... 'talk' for a bit? I know it's your break, but I hope you don't mind spending it with me." She said.

[nospaces] [googlefont=Karla] [googlefont=Inconsolata] [attr="class","surffcursor"] [attr="class","surffheader"]subject: identified crisis [attr="class","surfftxt"] Masu watched Mayu dismiss the conversation about the relations between Kumogakure and Iwagakure while she moved over to one of the couches, offering Masu to sit next to her and spend a bit of her break with her. Masu had an churning sensation in her stomach as the Raikage offered her to sit down next to her. Of course Masu was about to retaliate to the other woman's points, but something told her that wouldn't exactly be a good idea. Even if Mayu was deemed to be an understanding woman, there was just something about her that would say otherwise. [break][break] The problem was that she didn't know what to say and whether she should deny or accept the offer. Masu could only assume that nothing would go wrong if she were to deny the offer. If anything, she was more concerned with accepting it. Maybe Masu was worrying a bit too much is all. Yeah, that was it. It was all in the woman's head. There was nothing to worry about, or so she hopes to be confident in that. [break][break] "While I... do appreciate the offer, I'd rather spend it alone. My apologies, Lady Hosazu." Masu said as she made a heavy sigh. As much respect she had for the other woman, Masu prefers to be alone. As Masu would then try to make her way to the door, she wished that nothing else would be said and that Masu would be home free. [nospaces][googlefont=Roboto:300,400] [attr="class","jarbbgun"] [attr="class","jarbbgunt"] [attr="class","jarbbgunicon"] [attr="class","jarbbguntext"]As expected, Masu wanted to spend some time alone. A slight frown of disappointment was made as she heard the other white haired woman rather spending it alone than with the Raikage. Was Mayu being a little aggressive? She'd hope not, or at least had no intention to look aggressive. Disappointed as she was, Mayu understood. If Mayu was in her position, she would definitely do the same. [break][break] But what Mayu did next was completely against what she would expect herself to do. As Masu walked pass her, Mayu leaned to the direction Masu walked in to extend her hand to the other woman. She then snatched the woman's wrist as quickly and tightly as she could as an attempt to stop her from walking any further. "But you only just got here, Ms. Kasai." She pointed out. "After just a few words of war being exchanged, it'd be nice to end things on a good note. Am I right?" She pointed out. [break][break] Mayu would then begin to try and pull Masu closer to the Raikage, followed by moving her to the empty seat Mayu offered. "And after all, it's already been two years and we've yet to get to know ourselves on a more... 'personal' level. It doesn't hurt to do so. Just five minutes at least, and during those five minutes we can ask each other as many questions as we could." She said. Surprisingly enough, Mayu still didn't see herself as being forceful. Mayu was naturally assertive, so she saw nothing wrong with what she was doing. [break][break] "And just so you know, there's a difference between an offer and an order."

[nospaces] [googlefont=Karla] [googlefont=Inconsolata] [attr="class","surffcursor"] [attr="class","surffheader"]subject: identified crisis [attr="class","surfftxt"] Masu felt one of her wrists being gripped onto which caused her to stop in her tracks. Although she hasn't shifted from her neutral facial expression, she felt her heart drop in a matter of seconds. She mentioned about leaving on a good note, as much as Masu didn't want to. She wasn't particularly upset with the Raikage, but she should've came to the meeting to see what exactly was discussed about. To leave anything on a "good note" was nonexistent in Masu's eye. It was either going to drag on or end it at a certain point, and a "good note" wasn't exactly one of them. [break][break] She felt herself being dragged over to the spot Masu was suppose to sit. Mayu suggested the two should "get to know each other" since it's been two years since they've been working together. All the woman could pitch in return in silence with a straight face on the outside, and nothing but being concern on the inside. Masu would decline if she was given the choice to do so, which was obviously eliminated from her choice of actions. Masu didn't really mind, but she'd rather want to keep things at a professional level. It was how she programmed herself to be, anyway. [break][break] And then came the threat. This was no offer, this was an order. This meant that she has to do this against her will. Masu was most definitely damned. Either she could walk out and face consequences or be forced to sit here with the Raikage. However, the latter wasn't going to work out since Mayu had a hard grip on the woman's wrist. It was at that moment did she slowly turn her head to the Raikage, in which she then immediately looked away followed by a sigh. [break][break] In defeat, Masu sat down next to the Raikage, in hopes that Mayu would let go of her wrist. It wasn't like Masu would be able to run away anyway. Although, the thought of it does give Masu the false belief of freedom and getting away with it. She'd only imagine the Raikage only holding onto her wrist if such of an event were to ever happen, even if it's possible. The question was would it be worth it? It wasn't as if she feared the Raikage, her own boss. But she did have some suspicions. A lot of them. [break][break] "Alright," Masu said, accepting her place. For now. "Then I suppose I'll start with the first question." She continued with firmness in her tone. The first question she had was extremely bold, and may cost her the job of being an advisor. But after all, this is a conversation for getting to know each other on a personal level, and Masu was willing to go as far as to ask such a question that relates to the gruesome rumor that waltz around in the village. She was slightly concerned on the Raikage's reaction to her question, but hopefully wouldn't be like an outburst out of anger. [break][break] Masu would only sit in silence without another word being muttered as she stared into the Raikage's cold light blue eyes. She felt as if regret was starting to creep onto her. [nospaces][googlefont=Roboto:300,400] [attr="class","jarbbgun"] [attr="class","jarbbgunt"] [attr="class","jarbbgunicon"] [attr="class","jarbbguntext"] Mayu smiled in satisfication as she watched Masu give in and follow her order. "Good girl." She said in a soft tone. Of course, her grip on the other woman's wrist would still be in tact, just in case her advisor tries to do anything funny. The advisor was no child, that Mayu knows, but the last thing she wants is a grown woman like Masu to try and flee the scene, which would look completely unprofessional on her end. Though, it would be hypocritical of Mayu to say a thing like that, considering what she was doing at this moment. The only difference is that one had higher power than the other and said other would have to follow orders. [break][break] What Masu questioned was what could've been a death wish, but Mayu showed no sign of irritation to the question. In fact, it was expected of the other woman to ask about it. After all, this was a conversation set for any topic and it just so happened to landed on the rumor about her being the actual murderer. Mayu lost her smile, though it didn't escalate into a frown. Rather, she was interested in Masu's question. [break][break] "Hmm." Mayu hummed. "Well, what makes you think I would?" She'd ask as she would tilt her head out of interest.
