APPEARANCE

Kaname wears the traditional Hyuuga robes which consists of a white shirt with loose sleeves, matching pants, a dark navy grey cloak that hangs down to the middle of his calves which has the Hyuuga crest emblazoned on the back, and black shinobi sandals. He has grown his long black, hair into dreadlocks which he keeps up in intricate white headpieces called kenseikan, wearing one on top of his head and another two on the right side. He has also taken to wearing a orange scarf as part of his normal attire and in his younger days even went as far as using it to cover his face during missions. He does not wear a Konoha headband but instead his Fingerless Tekko which cover the backs of hands each have a metal protector over them which has the Konoha symbol upon them and on the other side on his wrist the seal for the Summoning: Lighting Flash Creation jutsu.

While going out on Missions his normal attire does not change much. Mostly he just dons a flak jacket over his cloak for extra protection and pockets. Also he tucks the loose ends of of scarf into the flak jacket to minimize the chances of it getting damaged. He has also began to lift the scarf up over his mouth and nose to act as a kind of mask which is not very useful to hide his appearance due to his intricate hair piece and white eyes which give him away as a Hyuuga. He also carries a Quiver on his back but keeps his Bow stashed away within a scroll that he does not need to unravel and keeps dangling from his waist for easy access.

PERSONALITY

As one of the most influential shinobi still active in the leaf, Kaname feels that his actions represent the village as a whole and as such he tends to act in an aristocratic manner. Even before he was considered elite he was serene and apathetic towards other people, while this is mostly due to social awkwardness than actual coldness on his part. He is famously (or infamously depending on who you ask) calm, especially in battle. his indifference is said to border on the line of arrogance, and has gained a superiority complex when it comes to most people. Although he is not above admitting his flaws and letting others know that they may be better at him at certain things.

Although mostly unnoticeable he becomes flustered whenever someone touches, or damages his hair. While keeping his calm he will look for any reason to excuse himself in order to fix his hair which could take anywhere between two minutes to two hours. It has become a personality quirk of his that he tends to judge people by the way their hair is kept "Do not trust a person who does not take care of their hair, for they truly care about nothing" is a part of his nindo he has only ever shared with his child.

Kaname is very perceptive, which makes him fully aware of his own limits in battle as well as in social situations, Because of this he has a penitent for being right on the money whenever he speaks no matter the topic. This also gives others the misconception that he is a know it all, while in battle it suits him because his opponent might over think due to the fact that they believe he has figured them out (a tactic that works so much better for him because of the nonchalant way that he fights).

Kaname casts a large shadow. Recognizing that it cannot be easy for those that get compared to him often does not stop him from trying his best however, Sadly, the way he does things always looks effortless and easy no matter how much effort he actually puts forth which causes people to think he got to where he is easily with just his natural talent alone. This is untrue as he is a very hard worker even though he was blessed with an abundance of natural talent,

The only thing that does not come naturally to Kaname, that he only recently had gotten better at after becoming a Genin teacher are social interactions, He has never known how to interact with people outside of fighting. This had caused a strain in his social relationships as everyone pictures him to be cold, distant, and uncaring much like his father before him. While this is not true he has not yet found a way to express his emotions comfortably and instead of being perturbed and awkward he comes off as cold and distant because of his grace and power, though he has gotten much better at this there are still times where he slips into his old way of interacting.

Another reason others tend to think he is cold and arrogant is because another part of his nindo "ninja should only look for criticism not compliments" which makes him quicker to criticize than to compliment (though as stated before he does occasionally give out compliments). This is because he believes that a person can learn so much more from criticism than they ever could a compliment.

This has caused a contradiction in the way that he thinks as he has become a perfectionist when it comes to his abilities. Causing him to think nothing he does is ever good enough. This mixed with his superiority complex makes for a very interesting way of thinking as he feels that even though nothing he does is ever good enough he does most things better than everyone else.

Byakugan:
The Byakugan ["White Eye"], is their bloodline. It is a Dōjutsu. The first of it's abilities are, when activated, the Byakugan gives a near 360º vision, except for a small blind spot at their first thoracic vertebrae. The range varies from user to user, but in general, they are capable of seeing from a minimum of 10 meters, all the way up to a maximum of 20 kilometers (Kaname being able to see the maximum of 20km), and the amount grows with training, ability and age. Kaname has always been advanced when it came to using his eyes more so than others within his clan. Mainly due to his advanced training to be head of the Hyuuga Clan.

This vision is telescopic as well as gives them x-ray vision, allowing users to see through solid objects such as Smoke screens and walls. Arguably its greatest ability is to see chakra in all its nature, including its flow and the circulation system inside the body with great detail as well as the color of chakra; giving them the ability to discern clones from the original. Like the Sharingan and Rinnegan, the Byakugan can detect chakra sealed barriers as well as determine when genjutsu is being used. Because of these unique visual enhancements Kaname has become an adept sensor which allows him to track and kill Ninja from great distances due to his fighting style.

It is from the Byakugan's especially acute perception of chakra and ability to view the tenketsu of the human body that the Hyuga Clan are able to employ their signature fighting style: Gentle Fist. Able to strike without force, and yet do more damage to a ninja than some of the most powerful ninjutsu, the Gentle Fist has been labelled as the greatest taijutsu style known in all of Konohagakure. This aspect of the eye depends heavily upon the distance eye as those with a low level within the distance eye would not be able to see as far or use their Byakugan as effectively as someone with a high distance eye.

From a very young age it was clear that Kaname was a Genius when it came to the Distance aspect of the Byakugan. Because of this he could see further or as far as anyone in the clan by the time he became a Genin. His distance was always superior without the need to even try hard at it (although he did try hard at it) not only can he see long but he can see wide as well giving him almost unrivaled peripheral vision. He became the epitome of what a Hyuuga should aspire to within the distance aspect by the time he became a Chuunin and was able to absorb more information through his sight than any other in his clan and maybe even the world.

While his precision eye has caught up with his distance eye it was a much rougher go for Kaname. His precision eye having always trailed behind that of his distance eye. Because of this he was a bit slow on the uptake when it came to gentle fist, especially when it came to the eight trigrams aspect of the fighting style. This was because he did not learn to see the tenketsu until he was a Chuunin and could not hit them consistently until he was a Jounin. However once he accomplished those feats his precision eye grew in leaps and bounds and now he is one of the best in the clan when using his gentle fist style making him a hard opponent to overcome.

As a Village Leader Kaname has access to an abundance of NPCs many of which come from the various clans of his village. What this means ICly is that during threads within his country he could easily amass an army of NPCs to help him in his fights. Also if traveling he can state that he is traveling with up to 3 NPCs (if specific clans are being used he must state which beforehand).

Archery
As a Youngster Kaname was not very good at his clan's way of fighting. Because of this he decided he needed another use for his Byakugan, He decided on archery through a series of events that brought archery to his attention.

His skill with archery is of the master class. Able to hit moving targets from great lengths and at amazing speeds. He also has the ability to knock several arrows at once and hit his mark with each arrow even if he is aiming at several different targets. His speed when knocking arrows is almost unmatched having the ability to knock and release arrows so quick and slyly that the unaided eye would have a hard time tracking his movements.

Gentle Fist
The most famed style of Konohagakure no Sato and undoubtedly the style in which relies on light strikes, hence the name; but incredibly powerful at dispatching foes. It is a close hand to hand combat that works on strikes, blocks and redirection. The style works by attacking an opponent's chakra pathway system, which are closely interlinked with the surrounding organs and muscles. Even the slightest tap can cause severe damage to the organs, giving it's namesake.

This is done by the user forcibly injecting their own chakra into the opponent's system, damaging the surrounding organs/muscles/etc. This is usually performed through the index and middle finger or through their palm. With the aid of the Byakugan they can gain an intricate understanding of the tenketsu, and can open, or close the Tenketsu. This wrecks havoc in itself as inflicting these injuries completely changes the dynamic in people's chakra systems that allow them to mold chakra, that can range from worse chakra control to zero ability to perform ninjutsu.

It should be noted, that any chakra based substance can be destroyed by the Gentle fist, as done by leaking chakra through into their hands into the shape of a protruding needle, or knife-like blade to cut through the opposing chakra.

Because the chakra pathway system is invisible to the naked eye, the Byakugan is required for this style to be used effectively. Since the Byakugan is unique to the Hyuga clan, it has become their signature style of combat.

When growing up Kaname had trouble initially learning the Gentle Fist style. While he was never the worst at it he was not the best by far. He was far from a natural talent. Having about the same amount of skill with the Gentle Fist as the average branch member however after many years of training it seemed he was just a late bloomer as his Gentle Fist style can be considered on par with what one expects of a Gentle Fist user of his rank. Also one ability with gentle fist, especially the eight trigrams variant of it, correlates directly to ones ability with the precision eye as with a low level of precision one would not be able to pinpoint the tenketsu as well as hit them during the heat of battle consistently.

The Art of Knowing
Kaname has always been an insightful person and has had an intuitive sense of those around him. This coupled with his natural perceptive abilities and the Byakugan's abilities allows him to gather vast amounts of information, while his intellect allows him to process this information quickly and use it to the best of his ability. What this translates to is Kaname being able to figure out things that others cannot from the world around him regardless of if he is observing the environment around him or another person or even an animal. His ability to perceive and infer based on the things he notices is one of his best qualities as a Shinobi.

With the Byakugan active he could tell when a person's heart quickens so only the best of liars could fool him, also he could see hidden weapons which allows him to act, counter act or react to them before their unveiling. He has also learned to predict movements based on patterns he sees while fighting to better counter his opponents, and have even learned to be able to identify a jutsu being used by the chakra that is being molded for it before use (though he can only do this with jutsu he has seen before ICly). Basically it is extremely hard to catch Kaname off guard or by surprise and especially hard to lie to him. Through body language reading he has learned to infer certain things about a person's personality and how they are feeling based on what they are doing with their body. He uses all these things to his advantage when fighting and gathering info.

Chakra Control
With expertise control over his chakra Kaname has gained several abilities of note. The first and most recognized is his almost tangible intent to kill. Before fighting (or whenever he gets too upset) using his extensive control he places his malicious intent into his chakra which causes a dense effect when felt by others. This showing of power and readiness to kill has been known to cause small rocks to turn to rubble as well as bring lesser shinobi to their knees or even to see their own death at his hands effectively stopping the fight before it even starts.

Also due to his chakra control he has gained the stamina to fight long and harrowing battles while still keeping a spring in his step. This is not to say that he never tires as he does, though because his control of his chakra is so fine he almost never wastes energy when using a technique which allows him to fight much longer than your average shinobi this has also given him the ability to transfer chakra to others to help them fight longer, though doing so will tire him out quicker.

HISTORY

Kaname was born twenty eight years ago to a time of peace. Because of the peace most took things easy but because of this father Kaname trained as if war was right around the corner. He was set to become the next head of the Hyuuga clan and he needed to be the epitome of what a Hyuuga could become or he would besmirch the clan. Although rough on his son Kaname welcomed it and because of this he and his father had a genuinely close bond and loved each other deeply. It was often stated that he and his father were a lot a like and the only difference between them were their skin tone as his father married and procreated with someone several shades darker than himself and Kaname inherited his skin color from his mother, who was a gentle and loving soul. Throughout his ninja career Kaname always strove to be the best he could be even while struggling with the gentle fist style which his clan was famed for. He never stopped training it training to push himself to go further with it so he could live up the clan heads that came before him. One thing about Kaname that made the clan and his father believe he would be a great leader is his perception and distance eye being at such a great level for someone so young.

His perception was at such a great level that the members of the clan found it hard to lie to him even at such a young age he could use his Byakugan to pick up the telltale signs of someone who was bearing falsehoods. This skill was increased exponentially when he was trained in the ninja arts as well as in normal studies. It was due to his perception and phenomenal eyesight that his mother, despite the wishes of her husband, started training the boy in other forms of fighting. He begun to learn archery and excelled at it. However, the Hyuuga were known as close quarter’s combatants who excelled in their use of the gentle fist and eight trigrams style of fighting. While Kaname still trained his clan’s art he began to take a liking to archery and made it is primary means of fighting and training.

During this time the other prominent clan of the nation, the Uchiha, were grooming a Shinobi whom they believed would one day grow into the next all powerful shinobi, this boy’s name was Koenma. Like himself Koenma had large shoes to fill as he was the son of the Uchiha clan head. The stood on the pinnacle of what it meant to be Shinobi within their age group. However, unlike Kaname Koenma was good at all things his clan had to offer making him the perfect candidate to lead his clan whereas Kaname was still struggling with gentle fist and unable to see tenketsu.

By the time he was ten years old he was considered strong enough to become a genin however they decided to let him finish the last two years of his schooling. During which he found another boy with whom he clicked with his name was Unari and he belonged to the Inuzuka clan and was quite the prodigy himself being five years younger than both Kaname and Koenma but still able to keep up with them. It was around this time that he started to make a name for himself and even was forced to fight other shinobi his age and some that were even older than he was. While his gentle fist and eight trigrams was his secondary fighting style it came in handy whenever someone managed to get too close to him as most ninja cannot fight when their chakra is being attacked.

The three soon became rivals and friends and pushed each other to new heights whenever they could whether it is while working together or training to be better due to hearing about the others accomplishments and not wanting to be left behind. This lead to their teachers putting them together more often in order to spur them forward even more.

Upon graduating the three were placed into the same squad under a young new Jounin that was making a name for himself. The Jounin himself was a bit eccentric and Kaname figured they saddled him with a bunch of kids, one of which was actually seven years old in an attempt to force him to tone down. it did not work.

Instead the children embraced his weirdness and trained under him up until they became Jounin in their own right. It only took them one year to become chuunin after their eccentric jounin leader took them on several missions they had no business being on which allowed them to prove themselves early on. After that they all went their separate ways but stayed well within contact with each other. Unari decided to become the world's smallest ANBU member so Kaname and Koenma decided why not and went for it as well. Kaname did not feel like it was a good fit for him so he left after about a year.

Kaname decided to put his brilliance to good use by becoming a squad leader. Because of this he was still able to work closely with Unari Koenma and even their jounin sensei as he would routinely suggest them for missions. They were a unit that was incredibly hard to stop and very rarely met with failure. It did not take long for them to be recognized as the go to squad in Konohagakure. So much so that when he turned seventeen just four short years after becoming chuunin all three of his squadmates became jounin. At this time Kaname who wished to become Hokage one day taught his own genin squad while Koenma became the ANBU captain (it was between him and Unari and they choose Koenma simply because he was older). Unari still worked for ANBU though not as much as he used to as he decided to take on more responsibility as a Jounin. 

This went on for several years until it was time to choose the next Hokage for the village. Kaname figured it would be his Jounin sensei as he was by far the best ninja within the village, however, the elders chose Kaname instead. He figured it was because of his sensei's eccentricity and was going to turn it down in protest. However his sensei came to visit him and told him that he had suggested him for Kage as he did not want the title himself as it would interfere with how he liked to live his life anyway. Kaname accepted and became Kage at twenty eight years old and the first thing he did was ask Unari if he would like to be his body guard as he could not think of anyone more qualified.

RP SAMPLE

Kaname listened the entire time from his seated position looking very caviler about the whole situation. The only sign of his tenses was that his Byakugan was active and he had a look of disgust on his face. His Byakugan was active because as the darkness of the leaf he would play the devil's advocate and as such he was monitoring the ninja's vital signs for signs of falsehoods. The look of disgust however was something personal he would have never came to his his lord a bloody mess and leaking bodily fluids across his floor. No matter how important the news he would have made sure his hair was done and that he was presentable. It was the last straw when the ninja collapsed and died in front of them.

"I am going to go ahead and say the two things that everyone is thinking.the first being that we got rid of a beast with ten tails just for one with nine to show up I have to think with less tails it would be weaker so having fought against the ten tails I could probably handle this fox by myself. Also someone should really clean up this mess" he said the last part gesturing toward the blood and dead shinobi. Those around him knew him well enough to know that he meant no disrespect in his remarks and that he respected the shinobi who gave their lives for their cause, however when a person died they were no longer their body they are nothing more than the ideal of them that you keep inside of you. With his passing his body became trash but his memory became a hero.

"This should be fun Izzy just like the old days" Kaname spoke as he rose eyes the dead body for bits of chakra to follow back to where the beast was last seen. "This Kyuubi Kitsune shouldn't be tougher than a whole army of ten tails clones should it" Kaname smiled at his old rival and friend. While their clans still had bad blood and even they had a love hate relationship Kaname knew that Issho was one of the only people it was ok for him to fully trust and considered him both his best friend and worst enemy. "I got a lock on It's chakra its pretty intense and should be easy to follow its strong so it should linger for quite some time, it reminds me of the ten tails chakra you don't think they are related somehow do you". He said this last part to Issho alone not wanting to panic the others.
