APPEARANCE
Raika is a notably pretty young woman, standing at 6 feet (182 cm) tall and weighing 140 pounds (63 kg). Her complexion is a bit on the pale side, and her figure is toned and feminine. With shimmering purple eyes and long dark violet hair, Raika is striking to the eyes in the best way.
Her voice is firm but kind, lest she be angry and speak in a much sharper tone. Raika's style is typically traditional---robes, yukatas, kimonos---anything that's silky and elegant. She prefers nature patterns on her silks: leaves, animal silhouettes, stars, etc.
Her favorite perfume is jasmine and she tends to wear it everywhere, which only adds to her feminine appeal.

When she's not in "work mode," Raika is a sweet presence to those around her. She's kind, loving, giving, and always considerate of others. Some have mistaken her for a noblewoman due to her poised and proper manner. Raika loves giving back to others and will always help someone in need however she can.
On the job, however, the woman is considerably more vigilant and cooled. Gone are the sweet nature and smiles, replaced by firm concentration and a careful eye to ensure her nation's leader stays protected. She is utterly focused and determined in this task and would not hesitate for a second to give her life for the Raikage's.

Violet Voltage
Raika's intense specialization into storm release and raiton specifically have enabled her to cast empowered strikes in both categories. As such, her lightning is purple in color, glowing vividly in a beautiful lilac shade. That said, it's quite easy to find her from a distance given this unique color to her techniques.
Speed Demon
Raika is able to flow raiton through her body to increase her muscle reaction and speed. This grants her the ability to move much more quickly than ordinary eyes can see, but only in small bursts. She can use this infusion to parry or dodge or lunge, but she cannot use it to run long distances. There is typically a wake of purple sparks from her former location when she uses her infused speed.
Empowered Storms
Raika's heavy dedication to Storm Release has given her ranton techniques a notable boost in power. Compared to her peers in the clan, her jutsu deal double the impact and damage. She also has a mildly boosted attack range, as well.

HISTORY
Year 234
Raika was born to Hiroto Yotsuki and Kana Yotsuki (formerly Senkaze). She had an average childhood and was always closer to her mother than anyone else. From a young age she was instilled with good morals and good character, as her parents wanted her to be amenable to more careers than just becoming a kunoichi. She would do well in whatever she chose.
Year 242
At age 8, though, what Raika chose to do was exactly that: become a kunoichi. The masters of ranton within the clan had inspired her, and she knew she was gifted with the release thanks to her father's side of her bloodline. So she would make the most of it--for her clan, and for herself, becoming the bright star that her family wished her to be.
Year 246
Four years later, Raika graduated from the academy. This was a monumental occasion for her and her parents. They celebrated with a night out in the village: buffets, festival treats, anything Raika wanted. It was nothing but hard work that'd brought her this far, and the young girl, now 12, was proud of herself. Still, she knew she had a long way to go.
Year 251
For the following 5 years after graduation, Raika adjusted to genin life. She enjoyed it for the most part, and her teammates were nice enough, but she felt like her calling was something greater. Her mother encouraged her daily, saying that the sky was the limit. It was around this time that Raika began studying fuuinjutsu, as well. She liked having scrolls on hand to help her team pack for long trips, and naturally fell into a more supportive role with them as opposed to one at the front lines. She didn't lack the courage, but her teammates were very gung-ho about being in the spotlight and Raika didn't mind standing back and helping where able. At age 17 (Year 251) in the fall, Raika and her teammates were given promotions to Chuunin.
Year 252
The following year, however, tragedy struck. Raika's mother Kana was out on a mission and was killed in action. The young woman was overwhelmed with grief. Still, her mother had done her best as an honorary Yotsuki even without the clan's blood-born gifts. To honor her mother and preserve her legacy, Raika changed her last name from Yotsuki to her mother's maiden name, Senkaze. It was how she would cherish her memory from every day onward.
Year 259
At age 25, Raika finally earned her promotion to Special Jounin. This was a long-fought achievement for her. It had taken her seven years to finally prove herself capable enough, as the grief from her mother's death weighed her down significantly for quite some time. She withdrew from people, missed out on assignments, and generally kept to herself rather than confiding in her team. But eventually that dark time passed and she learned to see the world in color again. By that time, several years had passed, but she finally felt ready to give her all for her career once more. Her efforts were well rewarded.
Year 261
At age 27, Raika's focused study on her clan's gifts were recognized by Yotsuki elders. She was encouraged very strongly to apply not for the Raikage's position (she wasn't ready for that and she certainly wasn't first on their list) but instead to request a spot as one of the leader's bodyguards. Surely having her abilities on display beside the Raikage would only further solidify the Yotsuki's rightful claim to power. If nothing else, Raika was obedient to her clan, the same as her mother had always been. She applied, and after a month of waiting and a few field tests, she was granted the position of Bodyguard.
Year 264
Three years into her new position, however (at age 30), Raika had seen and heard enough within earshot of leadership to think something amiss with how her clan ruled things. So much of what was spoken was all about the Yotsuki clan and even fair candidates for similar jobs were turned away if they weren't blood. Everything began to feel warped and skewed, and Raika's unfailing loyalty to her clan came into harsh question. She began to wonder if she'd just been brainwashed somehow. Maybe her mother had, too. How was it possible for a single family to hold so much power over how an entire nation was ruled? It felt unfair and suffocating. But Raika was just one cog in the wheel. She could do nothing about it. Nothing but play her part as her heart tugged her in strange new directions before she closed her eyes to sleep at night.
Year 266
Raika has continued her bodyguarding work and, despite personal feelings about her clan, regards her career quite highly and gives it her best effort. She strives to be seen as an asset as an individual, not just a gear within a larger dictating machine.
