JINJA OKIMI
WE REPEAT WHAT WE REFUSE TO REPAIR
29 | Female |
ELITE JOUNIN | KUMOGAKURE |
APPEARANCE
Okimi is at an average height of 5'6" and weighs around 125 pounds. She has long silver hair that reaches down to her back and the lower half of her hair is tied into a large singular ponytail. On the right side of her hair is a long black and white feather type of ornament. With icy blue eyes brought out by her light complexion and long lashes, she keeps a youthful but cold look to her face. She usually has a bang covering her right eye, but there are moments where she lets both eyes become visible. Despite her actual strength surpassing her appearance, Okimi has a shapely and slim build with short light blue nails. On the middle of her back is a seal with the Yotsuki symbol on her back where the two tailed beast is sealed. Her sense of fashion often various as she doesn't necessarily stick to one style. Sometimes she'll wear something formal such as kimonos and other attire related, other moments she would wear something more combat ready.
PERSONALITY
Okimi is said to be a very strict woman who's all about business and keeping things professional. She speaks with formality and honorifics, even if she becomes condescending. Classiness is the main trait that can be agreed on when it comes to describing her personality as a whole. She presents herself as an orderly kunoichi who's sophisticated, but keeps herself very grounded. In and out of work, she's consistent in being sophisticated. Aware of her status as the jinchuriki of the two tailed beast and the journey to get to where her power is, she doesn't let it get to her head. She's aware of her limits and doesn't go as far as to try and push them.
As strict as she is, not all the time does she uphold the image. At least, not all of it. Okimi has proven to hold a very laidback attitude and is usually seen in a cool demeanor. She's not the friendliest, but she knows how to hold a basic conversation so as long as it doesn't waste her time. She's willing to converse, but if it isn't worth her time, she has no problem saying so. She may appear relaxed, but it doesn't erase the deep core that is being strict. Some may call it an appeal of hers.
Though, basic conversations could only take Okimi so far. She developed a workaholic attitude and was bred into a war machine to the point where she could only handle anything business or mission related. Being socially inept isn't too far of a guess to label Okimi since she can handle talking to people, but instead awkward when it comes to getting to know people, especially if she doesn't have any interest in doing so.
Being cutthroat, however, is something she's all too familiar with. She shows no mercy whether it'd be during combat or in a social setting. If it meant sacrificing a few lives to get the job done, she'll do it. However, it'd be done with caution and leveling her cards. She wouldn't do it so mindlessly, but she also wouldn't be afraid to do so if it was necessary. This greatly complements her straightforward and frank nature. Sometimes fresh too. If she has something to say, she'll say it. It also matches with her assertive side as it perfectly connects with her desire to be dominant. She knows what she wants and she'll do whatever she could to get it.
Okimi demonstrates extreme loyalty towards the Yotsuki to the point where people may label it as "blind obedience". She would serve the clan and protect her village until the day she dies. In other words, she holds deep patrioism for Kumogakure. On the other hand, Okimi shows upmost respect towards her tailed beast, Matatabi. Due to the immense power sealed inside of her, it's only natural for her to show the beast nothing but high regards as she address the Nibi with nothing but polite formality and honorifics.
Underneath all of the flaws Okimi holds, there is a hint of kindness and empathy for those around her. She may not show it correctly, but it doesn't disregard the idea that she can be extremely nurturing. She looks out for others and just has plenty of tough love to go around. She continues to work hard to better herself as a person, but old habits die hard.
And some of those old habits were picked up while she was with her parents; gambling, excessive drinking as she became older, and occasional smoking as she grew up. The three things that help take the stress off her mind, even when she knows they're harmful.
INFORMATION

Specialties: Ninjutsu (Primary), Genjutsu (Secondary), Taijutsu (Tertiary)
Clan: Yotsuki (Adopted)
Bloodline: N/A
SKILLS
Massive Chakra Pool
Because of Okimi's devotion into perfecting her skills in Elemental Ninjutsu, she has monstrous chakra reserves that can help her last long in battles. She can perform Elemental Ninjutsu and Genjutsu for as long as she please. She doesn't have an unlimited supply of chakra, but it simply means it takes longer for her to grow fatigue from excessive use of chakra.
Superhuman Stamina
Okimi has very high stamina; she can perform various physical feats such as backflips, dodging, sprinting, and climbing for a very long period of time. She can last in melee combat for a lengthy amount of time as it takes her longer to tire out. This doesn't mean she'll never get tired, but instead highlights the immense amount of physical capabilities she can perform in a long period of time.
Seismic Sense
As inspiration from gaining enhanced smell and hearing from being the host of Nibi, Okimi has developed the ability to feel for vibrations around her on any solid surface. Trees, the ground, she can easily feel it. This is extremely useful when it comes to sneak attacks and discovering any potential threat. This accelerates her sense of feeling and makes her slightly sensitive to touch. Any contact not made on a solid surface can also go undetected in her seismic sense.
Excellent Balance
A complement to being gifted enhanced reflexes and agility, Okimi has almost a perfect footing compared to other shinobi of her rank. As she is able to get knocked down, she can often recover and get back on her feet, almost cat-like.
Panther Style
As Okimi has a more well-rounded arsenal of taijutsu techniques under her belt to diversify her attacks, her overall fighting style relies more on speed than strength (although strength can play an important role, it isn't the most important factor to focus on). She focuses on overwhelming her opponent with various strikes as means to bring their guard down and catch them by surprise. This usually involves performing multiple strikes at unexpected angles and striking at the same area and throw in a surprise attack. If ever possible and when the time is right, Okimi would add more power to her strikes at unanticipated moments.

HISTORY
Okimi's parents were far from being role models. They both had one thing in common: terrible gambling habits. In a village where the economy booms, it didn't stop them from trying to cheat life and get lucky. Even if they both did fall in debt, it was something that brought them together in a sickly romantic manner. They fell into the wrong crowds as means to build wealth, which was achieved in due course as time went by.
The two eventually had four children; 2 daughters being Okimi and Bashira, and 2 sons being Tetsu and Tomo, in the order from oldest to youngest. They managed to live in nobility thanks to their parents' history of gambling, but that wasn't their sole source of income. No, they've worked with gangs both from and foreign to Kumogakure. From exhorting money to exchanging illegal and dangerous substances, they were building a large and lethal empire in hopes to kick the Yotsuki out of power.
All came to a halt when the Yotsuki found out about the Jinja's reckless business and were especially displeased with them working with gangs outside of the village. They were to face life imprisonment for their disgusting crimes and disgracing both the clan's and village's names. The parents pleaded forgiveness and would do whatever it took for them to avoid punishment.
The conditions were far from satisfying for the two, but it didn't cost them their freedom: the Yotsuki were to strip all the money and items they've illegally earned and the parents get to keep their children. In exchange, however, they had to give up one child for the Yotsuki to claim under their wing. The parents were quick to give up their eldest child, Okimi, while they kept the rest.
Okimi was declared to be the host of the Two-Tailed Beast, Matatabi, when she was 9 years old. Despite her age, she was very aware of what was going on around her, mostly thanks to the environment her parents bred that made her more alert of what went on. Her life was threatened if she were to go against the clan's demands and had no qualms in a quick execution. She had no choice but to comply.
When she entered the academy at 10, almost every student avoided her. Not out of fear from just Okimi being the jinchuriki of the Two Tailed Beast, but from fear that stemmed from her being under Yotsuki's eye. They didn't want to risk being caught up in whatever Okimi was involved in nor face the consequences that came with it. That didn't stop Yotsuki children from belittling Okimi in both her status as a jinchuriki and her being under Yotsuki's control.
This resulted in her getting into a couple of tussles as retaliation against the harassment and bullying she faced. While Okimi didn't get into any big trouble, given the circumstances she was unwillingly thrown into, she was warned to watch herself. The only thing she could do is endure whatever came her way and suck it up.
At the age 12, Okimi graduated as one of the top students. Suspicions grew on Okimi's top student status from being a jinchuriki, however there was yet an actual connection between her and the beast to be made. For the majority of her genin years, she was at peace with doing missions and getting along with her squad.
Just a few months later since her promotion, Okimi was confronted by three Yotsuki genin with intent to harm the young girl, with reasons that she never knew why. If she had to guess, it was because of who she was and who watched over her. In short, she would never be a "real" Yotsuki. The group was quick to dissolve into a fight. Okimi was able to hold her own, but that was before she became overwhelmed with the constant offense and attacks that came in all directions.
Then something snapped within Okimi. She was out of control. All she saw was red. Although she had no memory of what happened during the fight, the ending was what stuck with her the most. The genin were critically injured to the point where Okimi believed that they were killed (later revealed that they weren't). The only thing she could do was run away from the scene and pray that no one ever finds out or tell. And to her surprise since the incident, not a single world about it was uttered.
Okimi aced the Chunin Exams and was promoted to chunin at the age of 15. This was the year was where Okimi finally met the beast sealed inside her, Matatabi. Fear was initially riddled from the young chunin at the sight of the powerful bijuu that stood in front of her. Even though they were weary with each other's presence, the two seemed to have a mutual understanding of each other and the circumstances that brought them together. They began to slowly trust each other as time passed by, although complete trust was yet to be achieved.
Okimi was sent on a mission to spy in a smaller neighboring village of Kumogakure in suspicion that they may try to invade with two other chunin. Unfortunately, they were caught and taken in as prisoners, awaiting for execution. Okimi initially pleaded for Matatabi to use her abilities, but there was yet to be a response.
Right at death's doorstep, that's when Okimi snapped and gained her first one tailed form. A shroud of blue fire chakra surrounded her and all hell broke loose. What happened to the genin that ganged up on her repeated history, except this time Okimi was conscious to witness. Everyone that was in her way was slaughtered. She managed to save the other chunin and escape with just a few bruises to spare.
During her years as chunin, she began to attempt to grow some sort of bond with Matatabi. The more she spoke to the beast, the more she realized that they both had a lot in common. More than they both would've ever imagined. Again, trust was still something that was on the table but not taken. However, it was safe to say that the grounds they've approached were "close acquaintances", as Okimi labeled it.
Okimi became a special jounin at 21 and was recruited into the ANBU. She became accustomed in serving the Yotsuki. She was a valuable weapon for the village which filled up her ego (though never let it get to her head). She even considered herself to be a clan member despite not being blood related. With the protection under Yotsuki and the respect she received as her skills improved, the resentment she had against the clan turned into pride. In fact, she felt she was blessed.
Nothing could get in between her and her determination to serve the clan. She would do whatever she could to protect the clan and village at all costs. Her loyalty was practically unbreakable and nothing could change her mind, even if some Yotsuki members believed she would never be a "true" Yotsuki, but many acknowledged her loyalty. Some would say she was slowly brainwashed into blind loyalty, but it didn't matter.
A few months later since her promotion, she was given a special, but gruesome task that was especially designed for her and her only. It was something she refused to do and something that made her sick to her stomach, but it was something that she had to do to show loyalty to the clan. It was discovered Okimi's family went rogue and estranged themselves from the village. There was no other person fit to kill them all for disloyalty than the one member that showed "true" loyalty.
And so she did without hesitation. She began to track down and slaughter each family member. Her parents, her two brothers, all but one were murdered: her younger sister, Bashira. Eventually the two encountered each other and fought to the death. Okimi was good, but Bashira was better and was able to overwhelm Okimi. For the second time, Okimi was right in front of the door of death.
Matatabi once again aided Okimi by unlocking the two tailed form and gave its host the upperhand. It was a moment where Matatabi took control and fought against Bashira. Albeit Okimi had no memory was happened, the result was brutal and a glory of blood to witness. Blood was splattered all over, limbs were ripped off, and other vivid imagery that would forever leave a scar on Okimi's memories. However, it was all done in the name of Yotsuki. Her parents sinned against the Yotsuki and paid the ultimate price. Her siblings were associates and were to meet the same fat.
At the age of 24, Okimi became jounin. Asides from being sent on various missions and slowly bonding with her fellow ANBU members, she spent most of her time continuing to bond with Matatabi. The more they opened up to each other, the more Matatabi began to trust its host. But it wasn't a smooth experience as memories of Okimi slaughtering her parents like animals began to replay in her head. No matter how hard she tried to suppress those thoughts, the guilt couldn't go away.
She began to question whether her loyalty for the clan was worth her family's death. She had no one. No biological relatives that she knew of, and the images of her family's corpses stuck in her head. In the end, Okimi continued to live in a delusional that her family's death was an absolute necessity.
At 27, Okimi was finally promoted as an elite jounin. She was promoted as the captain of the ANBU after the previous one decided to step down. Okimi was grateful for the promotion and accepted it, or so it seemed. As she continued to serve her village and bond with her bijuu, Okimi still copes with the horrors of killing her own family as the question of her true loyalty came back. Did she do it to properly give justice that her parents deserved, or was it to please the clan that she served until the day she dies?
RP SAMPLE
"But was the carnage worth something? The loyalty? The recognition of the Yotsuki?"
"...Even I have been asking myself that question as I grew older."
Okimi was on her knees and both hands firmly planted on them in front of the giant tailed beast that was Matatabi in a dark blue hue void. It was a sign of respect for the beast than to simply stand or sit in front of the pathway that held life and death for the woman. Ever since she murdered her family in cold blood, Okimi thought it was the right thing to do. She was told to do so by her clan, so it was natural for her to follow their orders without giving much thought of repercussions and how it'd effect her. Initially, she had no problem. Later on? It caught up to her.
"Sometimes..." Okimi paused and took a deep breath. Her eyes were closed to gather her thoughts before they slowly fluttered open to stare at the blue fired beast. "I wonder if my loyalty isn't loyalty, but instead blind obedience." She admitted. She felt as if loyalty turned her to a fool without realizing it until the cruel mission given to her. She should feel proud of herself, yet why did she feel regret?
Matatabi itself stood in silence before it responded in a gentle voice. "Sometimes, there is no difference in such concepts. They are more related than you would think. Loyalty can lead to blind obedience. Blind obedience is a form of loyalty, except on a more extreme scale." It explained.
Okimi's eyes narrowed in contemplation of the wisdom the two tailed beast shared. Was that why the bakeneko didn't fledge loyalty to its host? So it wouldn't repeat the same mistakes Okimi did? "Is that why I don't have complete access to all of your powers yet?" The thought that swarmed in her head was carelessly blurted out before her eyes widen in realization. "Ah... my apologies. I didn't mean to say such senseless questions." Her voice went soft and bowed her head as an apology.
"Loyalty in general is out of the equation when it comes to our relationship. It is less about whether I find you worthy of my loyalty, and more about whether your intentions with my powers are in good faith within your reasoning." Matatabi spoken.
But Okimi was quick to snap an answer. "They are." Her hands slowly tightened into fists before she continued. "My family attempted to overthrow the Yotsuki with an empire of their own formed by illegal and treacherous means. It was only natural to remove the threats to both the clan and the Yotsuki." Determination reached her voice and her eyebrows furrowed into rage, as if the resentment of her parents returned. "My siblings are all the same. They could've had the choice to step away. To step to a better future like I did! But no, they followed my- no, their parents' footsteps. They must be wiped out to ensure that the empire wouldn't continue to grow." She said.
"But that was not your initial reaction when you were but a small child, Okimi-san." Matatabi refuted.
"And a young child doesn't know any better than right or wrong versus an adult." Okimi barked.
"Yet the same logic can especially be applied to adults as well?" Matatabi question.
Okimi's eyes slowly filled with rage and her mouth curved into a slight frown. "What are you trying to imply?" She demanded.
"An adult can make the same decisions a child can make. The key difference is that an adult can better explain their actions in a more rational and logical thought from their point of view, even if others may think otherwise." Matatabi responded.
And that was when Okimi snapped.
"What I did was logical, damn it! Forget the Yotsuki! It was either the Jinja or the village at stake! Who knew what unspeakable evils they would've done to the village if they had enough power?! To me?! To you?!" She yelled, her voice grew loud. She then stood up and jab a thumb at herself, great passion now surged through her voice. "You have NO right to judge me! To judge my actions! And to ESPECIALLY judge my character! Whether you liked it or not, I did what was in the best interest of everyone involved! You, me, the village, the clan, everyone! EVERYONE!" She roared. As Okimi's intense gaze pierced through the beast's eyes, Matatabi's expression remained neutral.
"You perceive your actions as good willed, as a result you judge them as a form of justice. But is that how you really feel?" It asked.
"Of course!" Okimi explained.
"Do not lie."
Okimi's eyes went wide in shock at the sudden authority that crept in the once polite tone carried out throughout the conversation. "W-What?" She meekly called out.
"Your own judgement and reasoning may cloud over your emotions, but your emotions will always have a larger reaction that can be disguised through false reasoning, Okimi-san. You feel guilt, remorse, regret. Otherwise, you would not even dare to question if your actions were correct in the first place." Matatabi pointed out.
...Hmm. Maybe I am lying to myself.
